JDF Soldiers, police and Firefighters are trying to rescue seven students marooned on an island by flood waters in Porto Bello, St James.
According to reports the students were swimming in the Barnett River when heavy rains forced them to take refuge on an island in the middle of the Barnett River.
A JDF helicopter has arrived on the scene and the rescue team are working on a plan to rescue the students.
It is reported that they are not in any immediate danger at the moment, and water has since receded.
