PRIME MINISTER SAYS DEMONSTRATIONS NOT PRUDENT AT THIS TIME

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has pointed out that while citizens have a right to protest, demonstrations over poor road conditions are not prudent at this time.

He was referring to recent protests by taxi operators in Westmoreland which resulted in disruption to businesses and schools.

Mr. Holness said demonstrations cannot be done at the expense of people’s livelihood.

Mr. Holness said protests over poor road conditions are not necessary, while highlighting his administration’s comprehensive plan to rehabilitate the nation’s roadways.
