Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the Population and Housing Census, will help the government better meet the needs of citizens.
He was speaking at the launch ceremony yesterday (Wed).
Meanwhile, Director General of the Statistical Institute of Jamaica Carol Coy, said over 7,500 census takers will be visiting households across the island to collect data.
The census which was slated for last year was postponed, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will begin in September and end in December.
