Chairman of the Police Federation, Corporal Rohan James says the federation is awaiting a response from the Finance Ministry regarding concerns about wage and other benefits for members.

Like the Jamaica Teachers’ Association, the Police Federation has refused to sign off on the ministry’s offer of a four percent increase on wages for public sector workers.

Noting that rank and file police officers are becoming impatient, Corporal James says the Ministry of Finance should make it clear when it will meet with the federation to continue discussions.

Corporal James is also reiterating the federation’s intention to seek the intervention of international entities, if the government delays any further.
