Dream Entertainment Limited’s Managing Director, Scott Dunn, earlier this week spoke out against the closure of the entertainment industry in Jamaica, the delay in reopening the industry, and the negative economic impact of that delay in an open letter to the Government of Jamaica.
The director listed the challenges faced from the country’s lockdown and claimed it’s not just his company feeling the pain but also other industry personnel, from production technicians and deejays, as well as ancillary staff which includes cleaning crews. Dunn believes “The Government is killing a multi-billion-dollar industry and starving its dependents.”
“Honestly, we don’t want to run loose and crazy – that’s what the illegal operators are doing already. We want protocols, we want guidelines… whatever it takes to operate.
Now Kamal Bankay who is the chairman of Dream Entertainment stated on his instagram account earlier today that he submitted a comprehensive plan to the government with workable guidelines and protocols to reopen the legal events industry on a phased basis.
He also stated that the promoters are not looking for handouts, just a chance to earn in a safe controlled and responsible way.
