NRSC APPEALING TO ROAD USERS TO USE THE NATION’S ROADWAYS WITH CAUTION

The National Road Safety Council is again appealing to road users, to use the nation’s roadways with caution.

This as the number of people killed in road crashes since the start of the year, has increased to 220.

The number rose, following two separate fatal crashes in St. Catherine and St. Andrew yesterday (Mon).

Two persons were killed, while several others were injured.

Dead are 34 year old Omar Francis, who was the Jamaica Labour Party’s Councillor Caretaker for the Point Hill Division in St. Catherine and 24 year old Dennis Moodie of August Town Road, Kingston 7.

The National Road Safety Council has expressed concern about the crashes.

Vice Chairman of the Council Lucien Jones, said speeding continues to be a casual factor, for fatal crashes.
