Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz and the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), has suffered a massive blow ahead of the crucial CONCACAF final round World Cup qualifier against Mexico inside the National Stadium next Thursday January 27.

This as the Government of Jamaica has decided that no spectators will be allowed inside the National Stadium for the home fixtures, leaving the encounter against Mexico and the February 2 clash with Costa Rica to be played behind closed doors.

The JFF was also seeking to have spectators for the match in an effort to earn much needed revenue and to provide the 12th man effect for the national team in the crucial encounter.

The Reggae Boyz seven points off the playoff spot with 6 points from 8 matches, was looking forward to spectator support for the two big matches in the window.

Over four thousand spectators were inside the National Stadium on November 16 when Jamaica played to a 1-all draw with the USA to stretch their unbeaten run to four consecutive matches.

Canada lead the standings with 16 points, one ahead of the USA on 15, with Mexico and Panama next on 14 points each.
