Jamaica has received an additional three thousand doses of Coronavirus vaccines.
The vaccines which were supplied by the Pan American Health Organization, PAHO, arrived in the island yesterday (Mon).
Chairman of the National Health Fund, NHF, Howard Mitchell says the vaccines were expected last week but were delayed.
He says Jamaica is expected to receive additional doses of vaccines from the United States and other countries in the coming weeks.
Mr. Mitchell is confident, that the doses procured will be sufficient to vaccinate a large per cent of the population.
Meantime the Health Ministry resumed vaccinations yesterday (Mon), after shutting down on the weekend.
The vaccinations are targeting members of the public, 50 years and older, who are due their second dose and are closest to the 12th week after their first dose.
