Israel Vibration’s ‘Skelly’ Spence dies at 69 years old

Co-founder of the roots-reggae band Israel Vibration, Cecil “Skelly” Spence passed away on August 26 at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. According to his son, Craig Spence the singer succumbed to lung cancer at age 69.

In March, Spence and Lascelle “Wiss” Bulgin, another member of Israel Vibration, finished an 11-date tour of the United States West Coast in March with the Roots Radics Band.

Spence handled most of the lead vocals on Israel Vibration’s hit songs like Same Song and Strength of my Life.
