Prime Minister Andrew Holness says government will be honouring late singer, actor, and activist Harry Belafonte who passed away in New York on Tuesday.
He was 96.
In a tribute, the Prime Minister said that government will be renaming a section of the North Coast Highway in St Ann named after Belafonte.
He said the decision to name the highway in honour of Belafonte had been made before his passing.
The selected section of the highway passes through St Ann, where Belafonte spent part of his childhood.
