Opposition leader and People’ National Party, PNP President, Mark Golding, is calling for minister of Labour and Social Security, Karl Samuda, to resign.

The call follows recent reports, about the alleged mistreatment, and deplorable working conditions, which some Jamaican farm workers in Canada, have to endure.

Several farm workers have made complaints about the alleged conditions, however, Mr. Samuda had said, that during a recent tour of some of the farms, he observed no evidence of mistreatment.

Following criticisms, the minister announced, that a fact finding team has been appointed, to carry out checks into the claims, by the farm workers.

Speaking at a PNP, St. Andrew western constituency conference, on Sunday, Mr. Golding said, Mr. Samuda’s initial response, indicates a lack of care for the Jamaican people.
