The Education Ministry has stated that the programme to remove pit latrines from schools, will continue.
Minister of Education Fayval Williams said there are 87 schools that are still using pit latrines.
She was speaking at a Jamaica Social Investment Fund, JSIF function, where a project, on Hygiene Awareness, through the provision of Covid-19 sanitary items, as well as the removal of pit latrines and bad sewage systems, was highlighted.
Mrs. Williams said 25 million dollars has been allocated for the project.
