A cluster of Covid-19 cases has been identified at a facility run by Missionaries of the Poor. The Health and Wellness Ministry is working with the organisation to contain the spread. In a statement last evening, the Ministry said 74 positive cases have been identified at the Faith Centre which has been offering care to Jamaicans in need since the 1980s.
125 persons were sampled, which turned up the 74 positives, 6 of whom are members of staff.
5 results are pending and there were 46 negatives.
The Ministry says it has engaged the missionaries of the poor to put in place a range of measures to slow transmission at the facility.
