British singer Adele has postponed her highly-anticipated Las Vegas residency. The Grammy-winning singer addressed fans directly in an emotional video on Thursday a day before she was set to start “Weekends With Adele.”
“I’m so sorry but my show ain’t ready,” she said. “Half my crew, half my team is down with Covid. They still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show. And I can’t give you what I have right now, and I’m gutted.”
Adele’s series of shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace was set to begin Friday and go through April 16.
Ticketmaster is urging people to ‘hang on to their tickets’ for new dates predicted to be between April and June – but says they will give refunds if people apply online. However, many fans are already in Vegas having travelled thousands of miles to be there for the opening night, demanding the singer covers the thousands of dollars they have already laid out on flights and hotel rooms they have no hope of getting refunds for.
In November, Adele announced she’d be performing two shows each weekend at Caesars Palace Hotel, beginning on Friday, Jan. 21.
