Jamaican dancehall artiste Shenseea has called Megan Thee Stallion to the stage for her new song “Lick.”
The track, which was released last night, is the first single to be taken from Shenseea’s upcoming new album ‘Alpha’, which is expected to drop in March via Rich Immigrants/Interscope.
The track features a sample of Pupa Nas T and Denise Belfon’s “Work,” a song recently revived by TikTok’s Put yuh back in it challenge.
However, some fans were quick to compare the track to Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B’s controversial single “WAP,” both lyrically and visually.
One social media user said, “That’s a whole Trini song made over with a WAP made over video. That’s definitely not setting a trend kid. It’s a no no no”, while another commented, “It’s not bad but the fact that people expected more from her because she is very talented make them disappointed.”
