US$20 million in additional funding has been approved by The World Bank’s Board of Directors for the strengthening of Primary Health Care and Surveillance in Haiti project, PROSYS.

This initiative aims to increase use of primary health care services in specific geographic areas and strengthen disease surveillance capacity, particularly for cholera.

Through the result-based financed program, this additional funding will address the gap created by the reallocation of funds due to emergencies and will provide funding for key activities such as strengthening primary health care referral networks, providing incentives to healthcare providers, and increasing their accountability.
