The United States has issued a warning for its citizens in Jamaica and other Caribbean territories.

In a security alert posted on the US Embassy in Kingston’s website, the country says there is heightened tension in the Middle East, that may result in security risks to US citizens abroad.

It says the Embassy will continue to review the security situation and will provide additional information as needed.

But has urged citizens to keep a low profile, stay alert in locations frequented by tourists, review their security plans and to have their travel documents up to date and easily accessible.

The alert comes as Iran launched a ballistic missile attack at two Iraqi bases which house US troops in the early hours this morning (Wed).

Meanwhile……Just hours after the missile attack on the United States military bases in Iraq, a Ukraine international airlines Boeing 737 plane crashed after takeoff from Tehran in Iran, killing all 176 people on board.

Reports are that the victims hail from seven countries, including 82 Iranians, 63 Canadians, 11 Ukrainians, 10 Swedes, 4 Afghans, 3 Germans and 3 British nationals.

The airline reportedly confirmed that the plane disappeared from radars a few minutes after its departure from the Iranian capital.
