Tory Lanez is being investigated by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office for allegedly assaulting August Alsina on September 17 in Chicago.
Alsina claimed on Instagram that Lanez assaulted him after Alsina refused to dap him up or shake his hand; TMZ has shared a video of Lanez appearing to celebrate in the aftermath of the alleged attack.
Lanez is called “defendant” by the D.A.’s Office in reference to the assault and weapons charges he faces over the alleged 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
Lanez pleaded not guilty last November to assault with a semiautomatic handgun.
He’s currently out on bond and has had his bail increased twice: Once for a surprise appearance at Rolling Loud Miami 2021 before Megan performed, and another time for discussing Megan on social media.
He is awaiting a delayed trial.
