Guyana’s Minister of Home Affairs Robeson Benn has reported that Dancehall Artiste Skeng is banned from performing in the country, following last month’s shooting incident at Skeng’s ‘Baderation” Concert.

Meantime, without naming them, Benn says other local artistes are facing similar bans and will be unable to perform in the country.

The Minister said he has directed his Ministry and the Guyana Police Force to withhold their consent and approval for any future public performances featuring Skeng or any artist, whose lyrical content promotes the type of behavior seen at the ‘Baderation’ show held in May.

He made the announcement this morning, while speaking at the opening of the Community Relations Department of the Guyana Police Force.

The Minister also indicated that he intends to get Skeng’s music taken off the airwaves in Guyana, after the artist supposedly called the country’s capital “Gun Town”.
