SHERIKA JACKSON HANDS FRASER-PRYCE FIRST DEFEAT OF THE SEASON IN BELGIUM

Reigning world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has tasted defeat over 100m for the first time in 2022.

It comes after she was beaten by compatriot Shericka Jackson, in the women’s 100m event at the Wanda Diamond League Meeting in Brussels.

Fraser-Pryce, who has been having hamstring concerns, got off to her usual fast start, but was caught over the final 20 meters by the fast finishing Jackson who won in 10.73 seconds.

Fraser-Pryce was second in 10.74 seconds with Marie-Josee Ta Lou of the Ivory Coast third 10.78.

The colourful American Sha’Carri Richardson was fifth 10.93 seconds.
