Back to back World 200 metre champion Shericka Jackson is among 11 nominees unveiled today by track and field’s governing body, World Athletics, for the Female World Athlete of the Year Award.
Jackson was selected based on her performance at the World Athletics Championship in Budapest, Hungary where she stormed to victory in the women’s 200 metre final in a meet record 21.41 seconds.
This was followed by her claiming the Diamond League titles in the women’s 100 and 200 metre events in Eugene, Oregon in 10.70 and 21.57 seconds respectively.
