Minister of National Security, Dr. Horace Chang, says recent deadly events at a controversial religious establishment in Albion St. James, may be grounds for the establishment to be shut down.

Three persons were killed during a cult-like ritual at the establishment- the Pathways International Kingdom Restoration Ministries on Sunday

Speaking with reporters during a visit to the religious institution yesterday, Dr. Chang said it would have been difficult to shut down the facility prior to the incident. He noted, however, that with Sunday’s killings, it is possible that the establishment may be shut down.

Following the incident, the police rescued 14 children from the establishment.

Dr. Chang said under the country’s laws, several agencies have intervened.

Meanwhile, the 14 children taken from premises occupied by the church group have been relocated to a safe location and have been medically examined.

The Child Protection and Family Services Agency CPFSA, said it intervened in the best interest of the children housed at the premises, following Sunday night’s incident.
