Former West Indies captain, Ramnaresh Sarwan,  has relinquished his role as selector of the men’s senior and junior panel with immediate effect due to personal reasons. The resignation comes just five months into a term that was set to run until the middle of 2024.

Robert Haynes, the former legspinner who currently serves as selector in the junior panel, will serve in an interim capacity in Sarwan’s place until CWI recruits another candidate “in the shortest time possible.”

The current selection panel is headed by batting great Desmond Haynes, along with head coach Phil Simmons.

CWI’s media release doesn’t state if the same candidate will occupy both senior men’s and junior selector position like Sarwan did during his short tenure.
