The St. Catherine north police say party promoters need to apply for permits, no less than 10 days prior to the event.
According to Deputy Superintendent, Paul Bernard, the police need time to check on the character of the persons organizing the events, and applications that reach them outside of the minimum period will not be considered.
He also said the police will not be granting permits for locations where there have been breaches of the law.
