PIOJ reports economic growth amid the ongoing pandemic

The Planning Institute of Jamaica, PIOJ says preliminary estimates for the July to September quarter of this year compared with the similar quarter last year show that the economy grew by 6.3%.


PIOJ Director General Dr. Wayne Henry made the revelation during a press briefing this morning.


He said the goods producing industry grew by 2.8% while the services industry grew by 7.3%. Dr. Henry cited the relaxation of covid-19 measures among reasons for the increase.
