10 DEAD SINCE AUGUST 1

At least 10 people died in road crashes in the first four days of August.

That is according to data from the National Road Safety Council.

The latest incidents occurred yesterday afternoon in St. Catherine and Westmoreland.

They follow a fatal crash in Braco, Trelawny yesterday morning which left four dead.

According to the police, the incident in Guys Hill, St Catherine happened around 5 P.M. and resulted in the death of 38-year-old motorcyclist Garece Campbell, a plumber of Decoy District, in St. Mary.

Campbell and a pillion were travelling along the roadway, when he reportedly lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a truck.

Campbell died while the pillion was admitted to hospital for treatment.

And in the Westmoreland incident police say 51-year-old Roy Ricketts, a farmer of Moore Town, White House died as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision.

It was reported that around 4 P.M. Ricketts was driving a motorcycle, when he lost control and collided with a white ranger motortruck.

Ricketts was pronounced dead at hospital.

The recent incidents account for seven road fatalities in two days.
