Damaine Elleston has been identified as the man who was fatally shot in an alleged confrontation in the Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine yesterday.
Investigators also confirmed that he was a major crime figure throughout the parish and was on bail on a firearm charge at the time of the shooting.
A 17-year-old girl, who is of a Kingston address, who was held during the incident, remains in custody, while two male suspects who were allegedly inside vehicle are still being sought.
The incident followed the killing of Dewain Brown, reportedly killed by persons who escaped in a white Toyota Wish motor car.
The police later intercepted the vehicle and a shoot out ensued.
