JCDC Annual FiWi Short Film Competition

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) is hosting the third annual FiWi Short Film Competition with the closing date set for July 30.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The competition is in two categories youth which are Amateur Filmmakers aged 12-18 years and adult which is 19 years and over.

In a recent interview with the Z, JCDC Drama Development Specialist, Shaun Drysdale, spoke about how Jamaica’s Cultural & Creative Industries will benefit from the competition.

 

Mr. Drysdale explained why the prompts for the short film competition are Jamaican proverbs.

 

Interested filmmakers can also attend a virtual workshop on Thursday, July 20 which will be led by actor Everaldo Creary and UWI Professor Dr. Lisa Tomlinson.

Filmmakers can submit their 3-5 minute film for treatment by Sunday, July 30, and the final film by Sunday, August 27, 2023.
