Jamaica’s Reggae Girls were knocked out of the Fifa Women’s World Cup today, going down 1-nil to Colombia in Melbourne, in their round of 16 clash at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.

The magical and historic run ended, when the Colombian Captain hit the target on minute 51 in the hard fought contest.

Columbia at the final whistle, had 51 percent possession to Jamaica’s 49 and also made 318 passes, to Jamaica’s 317.

In the end, the Jamaicans came up just short, despite the likes of Jodi Brown and Dru Spence coming close.

The goal conceded, was the first breach of the Jamaican defense in over 321 minutes at the tournament, however, it was enough to send the Colombians through to the quarter finals, where they will now go on to face European champions England in Sidney on Saturday.
