Effective today (Thurs), Jamaicans 18 and over will be able to make appointments for COVID-19 vaccines.

This was announced yesterday by Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton, while speaking at the virtual COVID Conversations.

Dr. Tufton said the government was in a race to inoculate as many people as possible.

Jamaica is to receive some 300,000 doses of the vaccine from the United Kingdom today and the Health Ministry is aiming to distribute 150,000 within the first week.

Some 1.4 million doses are expected by the end of September.
