Jamaican social media users and their American counterparts are currently engaged in a war of words on social media.

The tit for tat comes after unfavourable comments made by some users, aimed at Jamaican Sprinters.

The comments came after the positive test returned by American 100 meter female Champion Sha’carri Richardson, after the national trials.

Local social media users responded in stout defence of the integrity of our past and present athletes.

In true Jamaican fashion, several memes aimed at Richardson’s positive test have surfaced on Jamaican Twitter.

After accepting a 30 day suspension, the American champion will not be eligible to run in the 100 meters at the Tokyo Olympics, breaking the hearts of many sports fans who wanted to see a final between Richardson and Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

Fraser-Pryce is the favourite for the gold medal and leads the world with the second fastest time of all time, 10.63 seconds, making her the fastest woman alive.
