Local track and field governing body the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association the J AAA’s, is among the six finalists shortlisted by World Athletics for the Member Federation Award.
The award honours a national governing body that has gone above and beyond, to serve its athletes, fans and greater community.
The nominations were made by each of the six area associations.
Jamaica was nominated by NACAC, after stepping forward in the face of difficult health and economic circumstances to host the 49th Carifta Games, where the record breaking performances at the event, were reflective of the preparations and commitment of the local organizing committee, which was put in place by the JAAA’s.
