DAWN PENN NOTCHES UK GOLD CERTIFICATION FOR ‘YOU DON’T LOVE ME’ (NO, NO, NO)

‘You Don’t Love Me’ (No, No, No) by rocksteady singer Dawn Penn has been certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry BPI.

The iconic single, first recorded by Penn for Studio One in 1967, has sold more than 400,000 copies in the UK.

‘You Don’t Love Me’ was re-recorded in 1968 and again in 1990 for King Jammys, then in 1992 for Trojan, and 1993 for Steelie and Clevie.

The Steelie and Clevie version peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart at No. 58 in April 1994, and also entered the UK Charts at No. 9 before rising to No. 3.

Over the years the song has been sampled by several top international acts including Usher, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Eve, Ghostface Killah and more recently by Mary J Blige for her 15th studio album titled ‘Good Morning Gorgeous’.
