The Bob Marley biopic Bob Marley: One Love is coming to theatres Feb 14, and with it is a star-studded soundtrack that includes Daniel Caesar.
Caesar dropped his Tuff Gong cover, “Waiting in Vain,” yesterday (Fri) giving a new twist on the classic cut from 1977’s Exodus.
He’s not the only Canadian on the upcoming soundtrack: Jessie Reyez will also give her take on “Is This Love.”
Also set to appear on the album are WizKid, Leon Bridges, Kacey Musgraves, Bob Marley’s grandson Skip Marley, and Bloody Civilian.
“Thank you to the Bob Marley Estate for having me on this project,” Caesar said on Instagram. Marley’s official account flashed him a “One Love” emoji in the comments.
Kingsley Ben-Adir stars as the reggae legend and Lashana Lynch plays his wife Rita in the film, which drops on Valentine’s Day.
