When the Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) Junior Championships begin in St. Vincent and the Grenadines later today, Karen Anderson, president of the Jamaica Squash Association, expects some outstanding performances from the nation’s young sensations.

Anderson is convinced that the 15-member team is well-prepared to perform admirably at the one-week championships.

Guyana, the defending champion, is heavily favoured to keep the trophy; nevertheless, Barbados, last year’s runner-up, and Trinidad and Tobago are predicted to present stiff competition.

For the first time, a new doubles component will be included in the competition, which consists of individual events for boys and girls competing in the Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19 divisions.

There will also be a team event for boys and girls across the respective age groups.
