Recording Artiste Byron Messia has shared a press statement in regards to his comment on social media, about his hit single Talibans, being the biggest single in dancehall since 2005.

The fast rising entertainer earned the wrath of several industry players, following his controversial post.

His publicist, Karl Durrant explains, that a win for Byron Messia is also a win for Dancehall and Reggae Music. He states that Byron Messia respects every dancehall and reggae artist and applauds their contribution to the genre.

Further, he noted that Byron’s Instagram story post was taken out of context and that only a part of what he actually posted was shared by a malicious blogger who attempted to spread a false narrative.

Talibans, released eight months ago has racked up over 48 million views on YouTube so far.

Messia’s song reached No. 99 on the Hot 100 and No. 12 on the UK Singles chart, following a remix with Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy.
