The highly anticipated party series, BRT Weekend Jamaica, which was scheduled to get underway this week in Ocho Rios has been postponed.
The statement comes after the Health and Wellness Ministry confirmed the first case of Coronavirus in Jamaica.
According to the organisers, they are very concerned about the impact and risk factors that COVID-19 poses on the thousands of committed tourist-attendees expected in the country this weekend.
As such, they have rescheduled the event from this weekend to Emancipation weekend July 31st to August 2, 2020 in Ocho Rios.
The dates in the Turks and Caicos have also been rescheduled for September 4th -6th.
According the statement, tickets which have already been purchased will be honoured for the rescheduled dates.
