Rapper Nicki Minaj, gave a brief but sincere shout-out to Beenie Man and newcomer Skeng at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards after she received the Video Vanguard Award.
Minaj began her acceptance speech by thanking those who had a significant influence on the sound and style of her music. She praised artists like Doug E. Fresh, Foxy Brown, Jay-Z, Lauryn Hill, Lil Wayne, and Jay-Z.
She also acknowledged all the people who offered her significant possibilities, such as Beyoncé, Kanye West, and Bajan artist Rihanna.
