Prime Minister Andrew Holness says crime and corruption are among the many issues in the country to be addressed, before moving ahead.

His comments come in the wake of renewed discussions about removing the queen as Jamaica‘s head of state, following Barbados‘ recent transition into a republic.

Speaking at the official opening ceremony for Christel House in Twickenham Park, St. Catherine, yesterday (Fri), Mr. Holness said Jamaica must be smart about how it moves ahead.

He said there is no question that Jamaica has to become a republic.

The Prime Minister urged citizens to keep faith in Jamaica.
