About 500 young people will be offered training and employment opportunities, associated with the Montego Bay Perimeter Road Project in St. James.

This after a Memorandum of Understanding MOU was signed today (Sat) between the government, China Harbour Engineering Company CHEC and Heart Trust NSTA.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness noted that the road project is part of efforts to create employment, especially for the nation’s youth.

The agreement facilitates having about 90 percent of the workers on the project, being locals.

He said the agreement also facilitates certification for participants in the project.
