12 finalists will compete for the top spot in the 2021 Jamaica Festival Song Competition, and based on the line-up, this year’s competition should be interesting.
Kavaughn Scott, aka Sashi Xpressionz aka DB, is a part of this year’s competition and he is who you would call an all-rounder. He is an actor and a well-known dancer, however, his participation in the JCDC’s Festival Song Competition is showcasing another one of his hidden talents, he is also a singer. The Zee caught up with the multi-talented performer and asked him about his experience in the competition.
This year’s competition is a healthy mix of competitors who are either up and coming artistes or veterans in the business. Each finalist has their own sound and flavour, which may make it difficult for the public to choose and vote for just one favourite. Celebs like Dez-I Boyd, Father Reece, Grub Cooper, Candy, Lutan Fyah, Tamo J, Reggae Maxx Pessoa, Althea Hewitt, Stacious, I-Octane and DB are all vying for the coveted title.
The 2021 Jamaica Festival Song Competition will culminate with a virtual Grand Finale on Thursday, July 22.
