Amid calls for more emphasis to be placed on enforcement of the health and safety protocols, Prime Minister Andrew Holness says, plans are underway to implement a ticketing system to ensure compliance.
Mr. Holness, who was speaking during a recent media briefing, noted that aside from making the allocations in the budget to facilitate this move, plans are on schedule to enact the legislation.
The Prime Minister explained, however, that the aim is for enforcement measures that will go beyond emphasis on mask-wearing.
Meantime, the Prime Minister said his administration has to be strategic in how it imposes on the rights of citizens, while working to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
He stated that there are many social issues that could lead to adverse reactions from the population.
