DaBaby drops new single ‘Masterpiece’

After releasing three projects in 2020, the prolific rapper drops his first music of the new year, “Masterpiece,” produced by D.A Got That Dope. In the song, DaBaby reflects on the November 2018 incident at a Walmart in Huntersville, North Carolina, where 19-year-old Jalyn Craig was fatally shot, from which arose his conviction on the charge of carrying a concealed gun.

They just told me that somebody died / But it don’t bother me, that’s a G thing /
No, it don’t bother me, it’s the G way,” he raps. “I don’t know what went down at
that Walmart / I don’t know what happened on that freeway.”

Just last week, DaBaby was again arrested for carrying a loaded firearm after cops
allegedly discovered a gun in his vehicle while he was shopping on Beverly Hills’ prestigious Rodeo Drive.
