Hotelier and businessman Gordon Butch Stewart has died.
Mr. Stewart died in the United States last evening.
He was 79 years old.
He was the founder of Sandals and Beaches Resorts, the ATL Group, the Jamaica Observer and other businesses.
Mr Stewart at one point was also Chairman and majority owner of Air Jamaica.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness said he was deeply saddened to have learned of his death.
