Prime Minister Andrew Holness has described the people of Jamaica as the true victors of yesterday’s general elections.

Holness noted, however, that there is significant cause for consideration as are many Jamaicans who did not participate in the polls.

He said while many Jamaicans stayed away due to the fear of the coronavirus, others Jamaicans decided not to participate for other reasons.

He was speaking at the Jamaica Labour Party headquarters at Belmont Road in Kingston where members of the JLP celebrated a landslide victory in today’s election.

The JLP had won 49 seats compared to the PNP’s 14 during the preliminary count.
