Voting has kicked off across the island and electors are out in their numbers.

As early as 7:00am when polling stations opened, long lines were observed in various constituencies. Voters in some constituencies have reported delays of up to an hour in the early sessions, while
others have testified to entering and leaving polling stations in 10 minutes or less.

Among persons eligible to vote are those who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are in isolation.

So too will thousands more who are in quarantine.

The government has indicated measures with which they must comply, to be able to vote.

*Before leaving quarantine, persons should notify the Ministry of Health and Wellness

*Wear a mask fitted to cover the nose and mouth, a face shield, gloves and a disposable gown.

*Electors should also submit to a temperature check before entering the polling station and wash or sanitize their hands, upon entering the polling station.

*Social distancing of 6 feet from other persons must also be maintained.

*Persons must travel to and from a polling station only in private transportation, in which the driver and all passengers at all times, must each wear a mask, fitted to cover their nose and mouth.

*Windows must remain open and the air conditioning switched off.

These electors should comply with all the protocols at the polling station and shall immediately after voting, return to quarantine.
