In a recent interview, Akon spoke about fellow musician T-Pain, claiming that “he’d be much bigger if he would’ve left the ghetto” and now the rapper is seemingly clapping back and calling out the Senegalese mogul for holding his music career back.
Apparently T-pain saw the interview and took to his twitter, writing, “the very ppl that held me back is tellin y’all how I could’ve been bigger. I’m not angry at all. I’ve grown. I’ve learned how to keep moving forward and not look back.”
Akon also said that, “i think one of the major reasons he didn’t become more successful is that T-Pain never left the hood. He just confined his music to urban music, that was it. I saw T-Pain as another me, to be able to cross outside of urban go into pop, go into EDM, go into Latin I still think ’til this day he still can do it.”
