Dancehall artiste Dexta Daps will know on Friday if he will be a free man.
According to the entertainer’s attorney, Peter Champagnie, Dexta is to appear before the Emergency Powers Review Tribunal to seek his freedom.
The tribunal hears appeals brought by or on behalf of persons who have been detained under the special powers granted to the security forces.
Dexta Daps was detained on April 8 by detectives from the St. Andrew South Police Division and the Major Investigation Division.
It’s reported that he was held as part of an investigation into criminal activity in the area.
