The Police Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago declared a forever alliance with Jamaica while in conversation with Reggae Dancehall artist Buju Banton.
On Sunday night, Trinidad and Tobago’s Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffiths went on stage during the ‘I am Legend’ Concert to welcome patrons to Trinidad and to reassure Buju of a mutual positive friendship.
This reassurance followed an Instagram video Buju posted on Saturday night explaining how disrespected he felt after Trinidadian police officers visited his hotel room, stating they have a search warrant. After seeing Buju’s Instagram post, Gary Griffiths also visited Buju on the same night to issue an apology on behalf of the Trinidadian Police Department.
Buju Banton is currently on his ‘Long Walk to Freedom’ tour where he will perform in various Caribbean countries. The tour began on March 16 and will end on August 2.
