The Education Ministry says the $20m pledged by former Education Minister Ruel Reid to Jamaica College, was not transferred to the institution.
Mr. Reid who was on secondment from his post as principal of the institution, had pledged the money towards the newly constructed stadium.
He was relieved of the post, following allegations of corruption and cronyism at the Education Ministry.
A release from the ministry states that the money remains in the coffers of the government.
It says on the instructions of the Prime Minister, this planned contribution was halted, as a review of the ministry’s systems and programs continue.
